That's actually true. Polaris itself did clock reasonably high already. So making it bigger would scale performance in linear fashion as long as driver would not hold it back. I think people would not mind another card w/ 512bit IMC if it delivered GTX 1080Ti performance or higher.
(I still think that HBM-like technology is way to go for future. Small footprint, good bandwidth/latency, low power consumption. That's dream for mobile devices.)

Vega with all that special stuff could have been Semi-Pro/Pro chip only.

Btw. I checked prices today again (including our lovely 21% tax).
RX Vega 64 Liquid: 717 Euro
RX Vega 64 Air: 615 Euro
RX Vega 56: Not much space
RX 580 8G: 480~500 Euro (390 Euro for unavailable model, which has some boxes coming within few days)
RX 580 4G: 360 Euro
RX 570 4G: 315 Euro (265 Euro for unavailable model)

So I smell prices going closer to normal very soon.

Yeah I really need to start stating in my post or set up a signature along the lines of, "The views and opinions expressed by this user come from the "gaming first" mentality unless otherwise stated."
