Is Lucas Arts gearing up for KOTOR 3? KOTOR 1 & 2 Bundle coming this Summer

Quote:
Ask every Star Wars fan about their opinion on KOTOR and you will most likely get comments such as ‘awesome’, ‘mind-blowing’ and ‘two of the best RPGs’. Should you be ashamed for not ever playing them? Damn right you should. But wait a second, you might be able to atone for your sins as Lucas Arts will re-release both KOTOR 1 and 2 in a bundle this Summer.

Reddit’s member ‘thekonamicode’ shared an image from a pre-order list. According to the image, the bundle will hit the PC in Summer and will be priced at $19.99 USD. It will come in two discs and it will – most probably – released on July 26th.

Could this mean that Lucas Arts is getting ready to build a hype about the KOTOR franchise and is there a possibility of a future KOTOR 3 title? Let’s hope so. There is definitely room for a new KOTOR game and let’s not forget that Lucas Arts has a team making an open world RPG. It’s a long shot and mere speculation, but it would be awesome. If Lucas Arts wants to spark interest about KOTOR, then we can expect to see this franchise hitting Steam too.

I have stong doubts about a "KotOR 3" coming out... ever. I rather think this would mean a SWTOR expansion or something.

It will be at most, some compatibility patches for windows 7.

Maybe widescreen patches, but I doubt that.

Hopefully they have a fix for that because i cant play the game on Windows 7 at all.

I am actually thinking of building an older rig with my AMD X2 3800+ to play some of the older games under Windows XP.

Oh and for some on topic material. I think they might be hinting us that Kotor 3 ****MIGHT*** be in the making with this bundle but i am highly doubtful with TOR being in the same universe we do not how they will manage to connect them all.

Although I have never had problems with win 7 and kotor, I played them both like a year ago using this laptop and everything was fine, only used the widescreen patches.

But if it's a problem with win 7, just install xp on a small partition or something,.

although i really hope they will make kotor 3, i highly doubt so. their focus is still pretty much on swtor and dragon age 3. unless bioware decides to pull a surprise announcement like how bethesda officially announced the elder scrolls MMO a few days ago. after all, they did license the heroengine for swtor and i don't see why they won't use it for another game. kotor 3??? nwn 3?

Both GameStop and Amazon are listing Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic Collection for a July 17 launch, Joystiq reports. It’s to cost $20, and it’s exclusive to PC. There’s been no announcement as yet, but expect more soon.

They were terribly crash prone and even had microstuttering when I tried to play it on XP 5 or 6 years ago. I hope they've cleaned the games up .. however unlikely that maybe.

Not one of the Gamestops in my area even sell PC games anymore. Only one of them even advertises the digital downloads.

You guys are getting excited over nothing. This is the George Lucas remix version. He added Jar Jar & change the ending. j/k

Seriously are they updating the graphics on it or is this just a re-release?

It will be a rerelease patched to work a bit better with windows 7, and maybe an official widescreen patch built in.

Knowing EA now that they have bought Bioware i would be really surprised if there will be a widescreen fix for it.

swtor is dead, this is clearly about milking some extra cash. Can't see why someone thinks that this release means they're working on kotor3. What is the logic behind that?

Heh .. true. Quick cash grab through an old but loved duo. Market it is as a new compilation and it will sell no matter what At least star wars junkies will probably collect it to add to their collection or something
